The Fiber Defender FD7104 ™ is a four-zone fiber optic intrusion detection sensor optimized for perimeter protection. It offers a high probability of detection (PD) a low nuisance alarm rate (NAR) and ease of installation and operation. This Alarm Processing Unit (APU) can be mounted indoors or placed in a weatherproof enclosure and mounted outdoors. Each zone can drive more than three miles (5 km) of combined insensitive / sensor cable providing flexible system configuration options. A common configuration is to remotely mount all the processors inside; therefore there are no active components located in the field.
