The MGB family of the Gigabit Ethernet SFP module can be installed on the PLANET Switch and Media Converters with a 1000BASE-SX / LX / BX SFP interface. The range can be extended from 550m (Multi-Mode LC) to 120 kilometers (single-mode LC) depending on the transceiver.
The SFP transceivers are hot-pluggable and hot-swappable (fast connection / active exchange. You can connect and remove the transceivers to/from any SFP port without having to turn off the Switch / Media Converter.
