OPC-474 ICOM Radio Cloning Data Cable Replacement and Compatible with ICOM IC-R2/R3 / A3/A4/A5/A6 / H2

The instructions for cloning certain Icom radios using the OPC474 Cloning Cable  the information has been gleaned from the Icom documentation.
Where used below MASTER is the radio that has the programmed data SLAVE will be copied from the MASTER and any programming already stored on the SLAVE will be over-written.
To CLONE programmed data between radios the model and type must be the same
i.e. a 450 - 490 MHz 2 channel radio can program another 450 - 490 MHz 2 channel radio but cannot program a 400 - 430 MHz radio or a radio with more/fewer channels etc.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Cloning between CPU revision 1. and CPU revision 2 is not possible. To check CPU revision;
While pushing P3 and turn the transceiver power on. CPU revision is displayed ("t" is displayed at the end of the revision number for Thailand versions).

The "Transceiver Data Out" must be checked for the MASTER transceiver (within CS-F3G). Otherwise the cloning between transceivers cannot be operated.
Cloning

  1. Remove the antenna from both radios (received signals may cause cloning errors).
  2. Connect the OPC-474 CLONING CABLE to the speaker jack of the master and slave transceivers.
  3. While pushing P0 and turn the MASTER transceiver power on to enter cloning mode.
  4. Repeat step (1) for the SLAVE transceiver.
"CLONE" appears and the transceivers enter the clone standby condition.
  5. Push PTT on the MASTER transceiver to send data to the SLAVE.
"CLOUT" appears in the MASTER transceiver display.
"CL IN" appears automatically in the SLAVE transceiver display.
When cloning is finished "CLONE" appears in the MASTER transceiver display.
    NOTE:
DO NOT push the PTT on either transceiver during cloning. This will cause a cloning error.
  6. When cloning is finished turn the power for both radios off and remove the connecting cables. When powered on again the radios will return to normal operation.
